Never having visited the Great Lakes before, I almost thought that I was already on the West Coast! Lake Erie in Cleveland

Cleveland apparently is one of the few lucky cities in the world that has the “lake effect,” when heavy, cold winds in the winter time pick up water vapor from large expanses of water and deposit the water in the form of snow on the receiving city. Cleveland has a few months of this so-called lake effect. I’m glad we biked through in the summertime!

Another great addition, literally, to our trip in Cleveland was our now supportive fan, Kevin, a biker from Cleveland. We met him biking into the city and ended up with him accompaniment to the outskirts of Cleveland the next day. Roz, Peter and Josh were awesome hosts! They made us food and even sent us on our way with gluten free bread!
